The Town of Smithtown was founded in by Richard Smith. This park lives near the north shore of Long Island and consists mostly of a nature preserve and offers space for recreation. Residents enjoy hiking, fishing, and cross-country skiing. Park visitors can also take advantage of a nature museum with wildlife displays alongside a nature trail. Also known as Governor Alfred E. Smith State Park, open year-round from sunrise to sunset. Sunken Meadow expands upon 3 miles of Long Island Sound beaches.
It also features a three-quarter-mile-long boardwalk and six beautiful miles of hiking trails. You are also permitted to horseback ride, bike, and enjoy water sports! For a more relaxing day, the park has playgrounds, softball and soccer fields. With 27 holes, a driving range, and putting green, it is impossible to not fall in love with the scenery while enjoying your favorite sport.
