Location Atlanta. Once a catch can owner always a catch can owner I've always done this mod on my cars and delayed doing it on my R because of costs. That said my thoughts are it might come in handy as my car gets more and more mileage on it though, so it was more of a pre-emptive purchase.

Some very good information here so far. Location USA. I wouldn't waste my money on it just how Zimmie said there isn't a single drop in there and hes not the only one with that experience. I was considering a catch can, but may hold off and see how well the stock PCV system works. If I do install a catch can, I will most likely go with this one.

It replaces the factory pcv system. Skip it. As for carbon buildup, there is still some. But it is nothing like 1st gen Direct injection motors.

This thread reassures my decision to go without, thanks! What's the best test to monitor if the factory systems working properly? Location BC. I have about km's on my car since I put a catch can on and as above I haven't seen even a drop come out of it an inline catch can.

I drive mainly highway so the engine always gets to temp. However, when I put the catch can on I removed the inlet pipe to make it easier to get the fitting off and noticed oil had collected at the inlet side. I bought the car used from 'the city' so perhaps the oil was from short city trips??? Still not convinced it's a needed accessory on this car but might keep it on since I bought it!
